Random thought… W vs B

I would very much like to know who’s following me and that is not an option on wordpress. Also, there aren’t a lot of layout options *le sigh*. I haven’t changed my layout often but I don’t like that I can’t. So now I’m thinking of changing from wordpress to blogger… any thoughts?

Awesome & Awkward Thursday!

Sorry. I wrote this up yesterday and then my phone decided to die on me and I forgot to post it… Enjoy… But not too much…

Today I had one of those day you wish you had never gotten out of bed. So, today we’re changing “awkward” to “awful”. So, ya ready for awesome and awful Thursday? … Brace yourselves.

-My wake up time is 6:30am but I decided to rely on the hubby’s alarm for a change which typically goes off at 7:00am. Give myself 30 mins of extra sleep. He apparently changed it to 7:30am so when I got up I had 10 mins to catch my bus.

– woke up with a stiff neck.

– parents were watching the pup cause we weren’t gonna be getting home early all week. He got out of the yard somehow and someone found him 20 blocks from the house. Needless to say, that alone ruined my whole day. I was beyond furious.

– walking to work the bag with my lunch broke. My yummy salad spilled all over the floor and the dressing on one of my shoes. Now I have horrible stain on my only pair of tan flats. *tear*

– Had some not so pleasant words with a cashier who wouldn’t give me a bag or some napkins to wipe myself down. I wish diarrhea upon her (I’m sorry, I know this is pretty evil but sometimes it’s necessary to get down to that level)

– I was late to work.

– and finally, I dropped my just bought Smoothie during lunch. Not even one sip people. *Le sigh*

– because I have a limited selection of clothes. I was somehow able to pull together a somewhat decent outfit (pics later this week.) thanks 30 for 30.

– so very thankful that a sweet and friendly lady found my pup and called me immediately.

– although I’m actually pretty sad about my shoes. Now I have a great excuse to go shoe shopping with the hubs blessing.

– my coffee guy whipped up what I consider the most amazing ice coffee ever. I bought a large so it lasted me till lunch time. Yum.

– and finally, had a great hot yoga class with my beautiful sister-in-law. That helped the whole day just melt away.

What a day! I was glad to come home and cuddle with husband and forget all about it.

Working from home {10 of 30}

Ok. it’s day 2 of my diet and I’m starving. Moments like now is when I realize that I’ve been eating way too much lately. The worst part is that I’m working from home today. I’m surrounded by tons of yummy treats. No fair! I know I shouldn’t be complaining because I am home after all but I’m being tortured by my own fridge. Celery and peanut butter isn’t cutting it. Maybe I’ll make some cupcakes later.

Shirt and Shorts: H&M, Shoes: Target, Earrings and Watch: ALDO, Necklace: Gift from mama, Bag: Thrifted
{every piece of clothing was under $40 or FREE… hehe)

Just kidding about the cupcakes. I can’t make those because I will eat 90% of them on my own. I do have to get started on din-din for the hubby. It’s not often I get to play good housewife and have dinner ready by the time he gets home. Off to the store to get some healthy food options.

No more games {9 of 30}

So, I am officially at my heaviest. The heaviest I’ve ever been. 126 lbs. SShhh! don’t tell the hubby, he met when I was 98lbs. Yikes! Even my doctor told me I need to lose at least 10lbs. I’m only 5 feet tall so the doc says it’s not healthy, especially since I’ve gained 15 of those pounds in less than a year *hanging head in shame*.

Well, It’s time to stop fooling around and eating like a beast. Summer is here and all the cloths and bathing suits I bought for the honeymoon last summer no longer fit. I’m not even joking. my shorts wont go over my hips. No bueno! I have no summer cloth and I refuse to buy more. Today I started my workout routine and my diet. And fyi a diet means eating less cupcakes, junk food and drinking less soda.

You will be joining me on this journey to healthiness. Once in a while I will tell you where I’m at on my weight. Wish me luck!

New love! {8 of 30}

I’ve always donated my old clothes or sold them to thrift shops. I don’t know why I’ve never really shopped in them tho. Well that’s not 100% true, I typically buy home decor things but that’s about it. I always walk through them and admire the vintage clothes and accessories.  Dream of all the ways I could wear or upgrade them to my style. Well, I finally did it. I bought some vintage goodies- mostly bags and belts. I can’t wait to use them all and to continue exploring the thrift shops in the neighborhood. Yay for vintage!

My mother has always said I was an old soul and I was born in the wrong era. It’s time for me to embrace the old-timer in me.

Introducing my new thrited bag. I am officially in love.

Man of few words
Filled with strong and untiring actions
Abandoned your art for the welfare of your children
Replacing a stage for dolls and action figures

Once an actor, painter and architect
Now a mechanic in unfamiliar lands
Filled with nostalgia and silenced sadness
While celebrating our success

Your hands once soft and delicate
Without marks or injury
Now rough and filled with scars
Continue to offer the same warm caress

Your sacrifices have marked your body and soul
To offer us the childhood you’ve always desired
One that is pure and uncomplicated
Filled with laughter and unforgettable memories

Please don’t doubt father
Your actions were not in vain
For your children have also been marked
Marked by the love of a wonderful father.

This week {1 – 7 of 30}

30 for 30: 1 through 7

This week was jammed pack with activities. And surprisingly having a limited selection of clothes to pick from made thins much easier. No more digging through my closet, it was awesome. I may do this every 30 days… ok, ok, lets not get carried away.

Just to share some extra info, here are what was going on this week:

  1. Packing up my office: We are renovating our office and we are moving to a remote location for the summer. I had to pack up and put away everything lovely on my desk. I haven’t been there too long and it was torture. I can’t even imagine what people who’ve been there for 15 plus years had to go through. Yikes
  2. Girl date: Met up with a friend for dinner. Yum!
  3. Training: So I was ready to roll and train 20 plus people. No one showed because they all got an email explaining that we are moving for the summer and they assumed the training was cancelled. *whomp whomp*
  4. Daddy’s Bday: For the first time in my entire life I actually took my old man for dinner for his birthday. We typically eat dinner at home, cut a cake and give gifts. He had a great time. We ate columbian food. Yum again.
  5. Training again: My last training for the school year was a success. I had 30 peeps and the organizer wants to book me for some for next year. Felt awesome to go out with a bang.
  6. Date night: Hubby suggested we get all dressed up and go out for a romantic dinner. It was great. We did dinner and then came home for movies and cuddling. I must have been having an amazing time cause I completely forgot to take pics *epic fail*
  7. Daddy’s day: Spent the day with my father and brother. We had a cangrejada ecuador style which is basically a crab feast. Amazing!

It’s about that time, 30 for 30. My 30 items for the next 30 days are almost all ready to go. This is gonna be a toughy. I think it might be one of my biggest clothing challenges to date. At first it sounded like thirty was a lot and this would be a breeze but after picking out my individual pieces it seems like so little. I divided up my clothes yesterday and it took me some quite time. Umm 2 hours to be exact. Then I went back and changed it which took another 2 hours. And  I may actually go back and change the items again. I took pics of all my items individually which I’m hopping to post soon. My laptop decided to be a poopie-head and give me a hard time so It’s currently on time-out. I will pot them as soon as we are ons peaking terms again, pinkie promise!

I’m excited and scared all at the same time. Cheers and happy remixing!

I wear cloth too

I’ve gained a few lbs  since wedding day. Ten to be exact and I’m not necessarily comfortable at my current weight. I’ve never been a picture person but now more than ever I’m very hesitant to take outfit pics, let alone post them on the world wide web for everyone to see. But, I need to learn to be comfortable with my body no matter what size.  So, I Just wanted to share some of my fall outfits that didn’t make it to the blogesphere. Nothing spectacular but enjoy.

I’m gonna start the 30 for 30 challenge so there is def gonna be more outfit pictures to come 🙂

Ha. Can you tell the difference in quality between my old lil’ cam (which I still adore and use) and my new nikkon.? I’m astonished everytime I use it 🙂
